Sharp Consultancy are pleased to be partnering once again with a highly respected and well established organisation to appoint a commercially focused Financial Controller. This is a forward thinking, commercially driven position which would suit a qualified or qualified by experience / part-qualified finance professional who wants to operate at the heart of the business. The role is designed for someone who is motivated by understanding performance, influencing outcomes, and adding tangible value through insight.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will act as a key link between finance and operations. You will take ownership of the numbers and will be responsible for interpreting them, providing clarity, challenging the wider business and supporting better decision-making. This position would suit an individual who is naturally inquisitive, commercially aware, and confident in engaging with non-finance stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner closely with departmental heads to support performance and decision-making
- Take ownership of the monthly management reporting process
- Produce clear and insightful variance analysis with meaningful commentary
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret key performance indicators across the business
- Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts to support ongoing planning
- Design and build scenario models to aid commercial decision-making
- Provide detailed cost and margin analysis to support performance improvement
