A leading business in Market Weighton is seeking an experienced accountant to help them for an initial 6 months on a part-time basis (c. 2-3 days per week).

Reporting to a supportive FD, the role will support the Management Accounts Team in providing high quality analysis and business requirements and helping to drive the business\’s overall management and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring completion within 7 working days
  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Maintain and reconcile purchase and sales ledgers
  • Prepare and post accruals and prepayments
  • Manage and review nominal ledger entries
  • Complete VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Oversee stock accounting and liaise with operations/manufacturing teams
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and queries
  • Assist with internal and external audits
