A leading business in Market Weighton is seeking an experienced accountant to help them for an initial 6 months on a part-time basis (c. 2-3 days per week).
Reporting to a supportive FD, the role will support the Management Accounts Team in providing high quality analysis and business requirements and helping to drive the business\’s overall management and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring completion within 7 working days
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain and reconcile purchase and sales ledgers
- Prepare and post accruals and prepayments
- Manage and review nominal ledger entries
- Complete VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations
- Oversee stock accounting and liaise with operations/manufacturing teams
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and queries
- Assist with internal and external audits
