FP&A Lead (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

A highly successful and growing retail business based in Leeds city centre is seeking an experienced FP&A Lead to join the finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to play a pivotal role in driving business performance through insightful analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide the financial insight and challenge needed to support key business decisions and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and financial insights for the Board, senior leadership team, and external stakeholders.
- Provide detailed analysis to evaluate commercial opportunities, support strategic decision-making, and identify key risks, trends, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Own and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packs, alongside ad hoc analysis for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Lead and support a robust budgeting and strategic planning process, including long‑term forecasting across Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Develop and drive meaningful KPI reporting, providing recommendations to leadership on performance measures that will deliver tangible business improvements.
- Support the forecasting process, challenging assumptions, investigating variances, and ensuring operational plans are aligned with business objectives.
- Assist with the annual budget cycle and rolling two-year medium‑term financial plan.
- Support the maintenance and development of the 13-week rolling cash flow forecast.
- Contribute to the monthly management reporting process, delivering insightful analysis and commentary.
- Provide sales and margin analysis across channels, business units, and geographical regions.
- Partner closely with the Finance Director on a broad range of corporate finance and financial management activities.
- Build strong relationships across both finance and non‑finance teams, including Sales, Operations, and HR, acting as a trusted business partner.

You will be an experienced FP&A professional with a strong commercial mindset, excellent analytical capability, and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels. You will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, translating complex financial information into actionable business insights.
