Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a large, service led organisation with an established presence in the Hull area, who are seeking to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. The business supports a diverse, predominantly B2B customer base across multiple sectors, delivering specialist products through a centralised national distribution network. The organisation operates within a complex, multi channel environment, with finance playing a key role in supporting commercial decision making, margin optimisation and performance analysis across the wider business.
This position offers broad ownership of core accounting processes, including leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities, alongside acting as a strategic business partner to operational, sales and commercial stakeholders. The culture has a strong emphasis on internal progression, creating an environment well suited to finance professionals seeking longevity and genuine development. Duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end close for Management Accounts including detailed variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor working capital and provide detailed cash flow forecasting to ensure liquidity for operational requirements.
- Partner with operational heads to drive cost-saving initiatives across the business.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly rolling forecasts.
- Act as a dedicated finance partner to non-finance department heads.
- Produce detailed monthly reports explaining deviations from the budget, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.
- Develop 3 to 5-year financial models to support strategic business cases, such as market expansions, product launches, or capital investments.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex accounting queries and provide coaching on ERP usage.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and liaise with auditors as a key point of contact for year-end queries.
