Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a standout regional accountancy firm based in Kingston‑Upon‑Hull. Our client is an incredibly ambitious firm aspiring to reach Top 100 status within the next few years and are looking for a talented individual to join them on their journey.
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Accounts Senior or acting Accounts Assistant Manager who is wanting more autonomy across a growing client portfolio, with variety across accounts production, portfolio management, advisory and tax compliance. This is a key role that will also have internal influence, being a key part of future business development, joining the managing partner and key directors on new client meetings – really letting you shape the growth of the business directly.
To be successful in this position you’ll need to be a self‑starter, commercially aware and able to work as part of a team across an established business unit. The role will report into a fantastic team of Directors who are looking to continually modernise the business, making this a digitally‑savvy, progressive firm with achievable growth plans that will really skyrocket your career in the next few years as you grow into a leadership position yourself.
What’s on offer:
- Salary between £50,000 - £55,000
- 2 days WFH
- Flexible hours
- 25 days AL + 8 BH

Duties and responsibilities to include:
- Lead accounting processes end to end.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of year‑end accounts, including tax reviews and statutory filings.
- Collaborate with Partners on complex client projects.
- Advise clients on business, personal accounting and tax matters.
- Manage an accounting portfolio of large and complex clients.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide genuine business advice.
- Lead and develop a team of junior staff – ensuring job plans and budgets are understood with support through to completion.
- Attend meetings with clients alongside the Partner to support business development of the firm.
- Provide technical support as and when required to junior members of staff.
