We’re delighted to be partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing £30m turnover Construction business in Huddersfield to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a newly created role, driven by significant recent growth, and offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step up and make an impact. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the financial reporting function, drive process improvements, and lead and develop a small finance team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three finance professionals
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Refine and develop cash flow and P&L forecasting models
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, CIS, and VAT regulations
  • Strengthen financial controls and processes to support further growth
  • Partner with the Commercial team to deliver financial insight and improve business performance

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Previous experience operating as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller
  • Strong track record in management accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience implementing process improvements and robust financial controls
  • Previous leadership experience within a finance team
  • Sector experience in construction or engineering is advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
