Accounts Assistant in Harrogate

Sharp Consultancy is working with a successful and well-established organisation in Harrogate to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a supportive team in a varied role covering a broad range of transactional accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day running of purchase and sales ledgers.

• Processing invoices, credit notes and financial transactions accurately.

• Matching, coding and processing invoices through the finance system.

• Completing bank reconciliations and allocating payments and receipts.

• Assisting with customer account management and credit control.

• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts and resolving discrepancies.

• Supporting month-end procedures and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Responding to customer, supplier and internal finance queries.

• Providing general finance administration and ad-hoc support.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role.

• Good understanding of transactional accounting processes.

• Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage a varied workload and work both independently and as part of a team.

• A proactive, adaptable and positive approach.
