We are working with a leading international business that is looking to appoint an EMEA Accountant near Leeds.
This is a broad financial accounting position offering exposure across a complex European finance operation. The role would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys working across multiple entities, partnering with stakeholders across different countries and getting involved in both core accounting and wider finance projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial reporting across EMEA entities
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls
- Supporting month-end close and reporting processes
- Working closely with in-country finance teams across Europe
- Supporting statutory accounts, tax compliance and year-end processes
- Liaising with internal and external auditors
- Supporting SOX and internal control requirements
- Investigating variances and resolving accounting issues
- Supporting FP&A, operations, HR and other internal stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting
- Assisting with wider finance projects and ad-hoc analysis
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:
- Strong month-end and financial accounting experience
- Excellent knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
- Experience working within a multi-entity, international or EMEA environment
- Good understanding of statutory reporting and audit
- Strong Excel skills and ideally experience of SAP or another large ERP system
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive approach to process improvement
- Fluency in an additional European language, such as French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or another European language
