Our client is looking for a highly skilled Finance Manager to join a leading specialist business based in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to report to the MD whilst taking full control of an SME finance function.

This business is a local digital specialist providing their services to a range of local clientele – from SMEs to large corporate brands – covering healthcare, eCommerce and professional services. This is a pre-existing role that will report directly into the Managing Director and support the wider business.

The key aim of the role is to own and manage the accounting function of the business alongside supporting the Managing Director in establishing a robust and transparent finance function with a clear focus on strategic value-add elements. This role is well suited to finance professionals looking to step up and add value within an established SME.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Production of full month end reports including management accounts, balance sheet management and bank reconciliations

  • Production of management information packs for Board and CEO

  • Continuous improvement of financial systems where needed

  • Responsibility for actively improving all financial management procedures

  • Leading budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Processing of weekly payroll data

  • Oversee year end process whilst acting as a point of contact for auditors

  • Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns

  • Reporting weekly cash spend forecast and management of cash forecasting system

  • Engaging in in cost management reviews and improvement projects

  • Presentation of monthly financial review with senior management team

Person specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified

  • Experience of working within an SME finance function
