Finance Business Partner

We’re excited to be supporting a multi-award-winning business in the search for a Finance Business Partner to join their growing team in Wakefield. This is a pivotal role working alongside operational and commercial leaders to deliver high-quality financial analysis, support strategic decision-making, and enhance project performance. You’ll be a visible, valued voice in the business—helping to translate numbers into meaningful action. Key Responsibilities: * Partner with project managers and senior stakeholders to assess performance, identify efficiencies, and enhance profitability * Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for key business units * Deliver monthly management accounts, project forecasts, and variance analysis * Provide meaningful, data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decisions * Evaluate financial risks and opportunities at the project level * Support commercial activity including bids, tenders, and new business initiatives * Contribute to divisional FP&A processes and performance reviews * Drive improvements in reporting tools, data accuracy, and financial workflows * Ensure robust financial governance and compliance across operations Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience: * Proven experience in finance business partnering, preferably within engineering, construction, utilities, or other project-driven sectors * Strong commercial awareness with a focus on delivering value * Familiarity with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) is a distinct advantage * Effective communicator, confident in challenging and influencing stakeholders across functions * Advanced Excel capabilities; experience with ERP systems is beneficial * Proactive and hands-on approach with a commitment to continuous improvement Sharp Consultancy is a finance and accountancy recruitment specialist assisting accounting and finance divisions of businesses in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire area.
