Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a growing and well-established business based in Chesterfield, who are looking to appoint a Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk on a full time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchase ledger professional to join a stable finance team within a business that values accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The Role
- Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments while supporting junior team members where required.
- End-to-end management of the purchase ledger
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting month-end processes and reporting
- Assisting with process improvements and mentoring within the team
About You
- Have proven experience in a senior or high-volume purchase ledger role
- Have good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Be confident working with accounting systems and Excel
- Have a proactive and collaborative approach
- Be comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
