Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Chesterfield as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is actively studying towards an accounting qualification and is looking to develop their management accounting skills within a supportive and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of month-end, reporting and commercial finance activities, making this an ideal next step for someone looking to progress their career.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Financial Controller with the preparation and maintenance of sales budgets and forecasts.
- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts.
- Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Producing financial analysis and sales reporting to support business decision-making.
- Maintaining and administering the company's expense claims system.
- Processing payments and cashbook postings.
- Overseeing sales rebate calculations and reporting.
- Calculating and maintaining labour and overhead recovery rates.
- Supporting a variety of finance projects and ad hoc reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a finance or accounts department.
- Be actively studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA), with study support available.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
- Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
