A high-growth, market-leading business is seeking an ambitious Group Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in its next phase of expansion. Operating within a dynamic, multi-entity environment, the business has achieved consistent year-on-year growth and is continuing to scale through a combination of organic development and strategic acquisitions. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

The Role

You will take ownership of the finance function, driving best-in-class reporting, controls, and commercial insight, while leading and developing a high-performing team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of monthly management accounts and group board reporting, delivering high-quality insight and analysis
  • Development of meaningful KPI reporting to support strategic decision-making and performance improvement
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting (weekly and quarterly), and cash flow management processes
  • Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and working capital management
  • Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting, tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE), and audit readiness
  • Manage bank reporting, covenant compliance, and invoice discounting facilities
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, sales, marketing, and distribution to drive commercial performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Review and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Support M&A activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate:

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant / Group Finance)
  • Managing and developing finance teams
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen within fast-paced environments (e.g. retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, or service-led businesses)
  • Confident communication with the ability to influence at senior stakeholder level
  • Proactive, hands-on drive to improve processes and performance
