A well-established accountancy practice is continuing to grow its audit team in Barnsley and is looking to bring in an Audit Semi Senior.
The firm has a strong reputation across the region, working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and larger clients, and offers a supportive environment where people can develop a long-term career in practice.
In the role, you’ll support the delivery of audits from planning through to completion, while also getting exposure to accounts and wider client work.
You’ll work closely with more senior members of the team and have regular contact with clients, giving you the opportunity to develop both your technical knowledge and confidence in a client-facing environment.
This would suit someone with previous practice experience who is looking to take the next step in their audit career.
You may be AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA or working towards a qualification, but the key thing is that you have a genuine interest in developing within audit and want to join a firm where progression is available.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Supporting audits from planning through to completion
- Preparing audit working papers and financial statements
- Carrying out testing across a range of audit areas
- Assisting with accounts preparation where required
- Working with a varied portfolio of clients
- Building strong relationships with clients and responding to queries
- Supporting more senior members of the audit team
- Identifying issues and communicating these to the wider team
- Developing your technical knowledge across audit and accounts
Who you are
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA
- Good understanding of accounting and audit principles
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Keen to develop and progress within practice
- Commercial and proactive approach
