Key Responsibilities
- Managing, supporting and developing a small Accounts Payable team
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function
- Monitoring workloads and ensuring invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and on time
- Reviewing and improving accounts payable processes and controls
- Supporting the team with supplier query resolution and escalations
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and financial controls
- Producing reports and KPIs for senior management
- Working closely with the wider finance team and other departments
- Assisting with month‑end activities and reporting
- Providing hands‑on support with purchase ledger processing, reconciliations and payment runs as required
About You
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Supervisor or Manager position
- Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a finance team
- Knowledge of purchase ledger processes and controls
- The ability to balance leadership responsibilities with a hands‑on approach
- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships
- Good systems knowledge, including accounting software and Microsoft Excel
