In this role, you will provide essential daily support to the Finance Department, assisting in the analysis of business performance across various retail locations. You will play a key role in preparing management accounts and ensuring the Management Accountant receives accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to the Finance Department, assisting with financial tasks and ensuring smooth operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of global retail subsidiaries, contributing to group board reporting.
- Help implement and enhance systems as the company integrates new technologies.
- Support the management and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Record accounting journals and assist with month-end closing, including preparing the Profit & Loss statement.
- Assist with year-end audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and provide detailed financial analysis.
- Help with the preparation of VAT returns.
Experience
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., AAT, part-qualified ACCA, CIMA).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, capable of addressing queries at all organizational levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
Ideally, you will have experience with month-end processes and be part-qualified, or have a strong interest in pursuing ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualifications.
