Sharp Consultancy is working in partnership with a growing, private equity-backed services business as it continues to invest in its technology capability and form the foundations for its next stage of growth.
As part of this investment, the business is looking to appoint a Technology Delivery Project Manager to take ownership of a varied technology change portfolio, leading key systems implementations and wider projects that will improve how the organisation operates.
Reporting to the Head of IT, this is a hands on role for a technology professional who combines project delivery expertise with excellent people skills. You’ll work across the business, engaging with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, translating technical requirements into practical business outcomes and ensuring projects deliver lasting value.
The role
You’ll lead technology projects from initial scoping and planning through to implementation, adoption and transition into business-as-usual operations. This will include ERP and core business systems projects, alongside wider initiatives involving data, integrations, automation, infrastructure and cyber.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Applying an Agile approach to delivery, encouraging collaboration, iterative progress, regular feedback and continuous improvement, while maintaining appropriate governance and control.
- Establishing effective project reporting and controls to improve visibility, accountability and delivery predictability.
- Managing third-party suppliers and implementation partners, ensuring commitments, costs and deliverables remain on track.
- Managing relationships with internal stakeholders, from technical teams and operational users through to senior leadership, adapting your approach to secure engagement and buy-in.
- Translating business needs into clear project priorities, managing expectations and communicating progress, challenges and decisions effectively.
- Supporting organisational change, preparing users for new systems and ensuring successful adoption and transition into ongoing support.
- Identifying delivery challenges early, resolving issues pragmatically and keeping projects focused on their intended commercial and operational benefits.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a background in technology project delivery, ideally with experience of ERP, enterprise systems or complex business transformation. Just as importantly, you’ll be a confident communicator and relationship-builder, comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders and seniority levels.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience delivering technology projects from initiation through to implementation and handover.
- Good stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and challenge constructively at all levels.
- An Agile mindset, with experience applying iterative delivery methods and adapting plans as priorities and requirements evolve.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, suppliers, risks and competing priorities.
- A structured yet pragmatic approach to governance, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring projects remain aligned with wider organisational objectives.
Experience within a growing, multi-site or internationally operating business would be beneficial, as would exposure to operationally complex environments. Relevant project management qualifications are welcome, but proven delivery experience, adaptability and interpersonal skills are the priority.
Why consider it?
Private equity backing brings a clear focus on growth, investment and creating a business for the future. For the successful candidate, that creates an opportunity to make a tangible contribution rather than simply maintain an established project framework.
You’ll work closely with the Head of IT, take ownership of meaningful projects and help develop the processes, relationships and delivery standards that will support the business as it continues to evolve.
For an ambitious technology professional looking for greater accountability, visibility and the opportunity to influence change across an entire business, this is an opportunity to combine technical delivery with genuine stakeholder engagement and commercial impact.
