Finance Business Partner – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
We are currently supporting a successful and well-established UK business with the appointment of a Finance Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a commercially focused finance team and take ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, balance sheet controls and business partnering across key operational functions.
Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, you will provide accurate financial information and insight to support effective decision-making, while ensuring strong financial controls and compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review month-end accounting journals and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage provisions and associated accounting requirements, ensuring appropriate recognition within the financial statements.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and maintaining a high level of financial control.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and related disclosures, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls in line with corporate governance, statutory requirements and audit standards.
- Lead the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for designated cost centres, providing accurate financial plans to support operational decision-making.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, highlighting key trends, drivers and areas of opportunity.
- Work closely with operational management to improve understanding of financial performance, key cost drivers and variances.
- Support internal and external audits by providing financial information, analysis and supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls, enhancing efficiency, accuracy and financial governance.
About you
To be considered for this Finance Business Partner position, you will be a fully qualified (ideally ACCA, ACA) with a strong technical accounting background, accompanied the confidence to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
