Management Accountant – Maternity Cover
Barnsley | c.£45,000 | 15-Month Contract | November Start
We’re working with a well-established client in Barnsley who is looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant on a 15-month maternity cover contract, starting in November.
This is a great opportunity for a confident management accountant who is comfortable taking ownership of the month-end process and producing accurate, meaningful management information for the business.
You do not need to be fully qualified for this role. We’re happy to consider candidates who are part-qualified (PQ), qualified by experience (QBE), or fully qualified, provided you have solid hands-on experience producing management accounts.
Working as part of the finance team, you’ll be responsible for a broad range of management accounting duties, including:
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts
- Preparing and posting month-end journals and completing month-end processes
- Balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews
- Variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
- Providing financial analysis and management information to key stakeholders
- Monitoring costs and investigating significant variances
- Assisting with cash flow and financial reporting
- Supporting year-end processes and the external audit
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes
- Providing general support to the wider finance team as required
