Objectives of this Role
Level 1
Network Support Engineer will monitor the networks and ensure security standards are met.
Network Engineers will also be responsible for troubleshooting and fixing problems.
Job Description for Network Support Engineer
- The 1st Line Network Engineer will be expected to work through helpdesk tickets and will be expected to go out on site to visit clients.
- Need to thrive on multi-tasking as they complete tasks like installing / maintaining servers (virtual and physical), supporting workstations, resolving OS and application faults as well as identifying and resolving network connectivity issues.
- Installation/Configuration of Routers and Switches.
- Trouble shooting and resolve network base problems for customers or Troubleshooting circuit faults and working with carriers to achieve fault resolution.
- Handling customer enquiries and support issues using a ticketing system
- Proactive network monitoring of alarms via monitoring tools
- Ensuring SLA’s are not breached
- Escalation of faults/outages, taking action to restore services
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT related field or Networking is preferred

- Solid understanding of Microsoft Desktops
- Awareness of networking principles and technologies
