This is a Fixed Term Contract for 14 months. We are seeking a proactive and conscientious Senior Management Accountant to join our UK Opex Finance team. This role will be responsible for the preparation, review and delivery of high-quality management information, providing meaningful insight into business performance and supporting stakeholders with effective decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) looking to further develop their technical expertise and business partnering skills within a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of specific P&L areas within the monthly management accounts for UK Opex, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare, review and challenge accruals and prepayments, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and robust supporting documentation.
- Deliver clear and insightful monthly Opex reporting, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Provide high-quality commentary and analysis, highlighting key drivers, risks and opportunities affecting performance.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
- Partner with the FP&A team to support monthly reforecasting and budgeting cycles.
- Actively identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, control and quality of Opex reporting and month-end processes.
- Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA preferred).
- Strong technical accounting foundation with experience of management accounting and month end close.
- Analytical and detail oriented, with the ability to interpret financial data and translate it into clear business insight.
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with non-finance stakeholders and challenge constructively where appropriate.
- Well organised and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proactive, collaborative and solutions focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
