We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Specialist for a client of ours based in the City of London! The client helps to deliver transformational programmes across the real estate, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, making a difference to people’s lives and ensuring a return on investment for clients and their investors alike.

This position will find you in the IT Infrastructure team where you will support and develop the company’s wide area and local networks, phone systems, video conferencing network and server infrastructure with a high focus on end user service and security, including developing, planning and responsibility for gathering requirements, designing and implementing enterprise-wide solutions. You will be required to proactively improve, optimise, converge and develop the infrastructure with future capacity in mind, managing multiple projects and responsibilities.

In particular, you will be required to provide advice and guidance on maintaining the server, network and security environments, to plan and instigate hardware and software upgrades as required, and to ensure that planned processes have been completed satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Technologies, Windows Servers (2008, 2012 & 2016), Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Extensive knowledge of IP, WAN, LAN & Wifi Networking.
  • Comprehensive experience with VMWare, vCentre, & ESXi.
  • Good understanding of Storage, SAN, NAS & Backup Technologies.
  • Awareness of Infrastructure best practice.
  • All round IT infrastructure specialist with at least 3 years hands-on experience.
DESIRABLES:
  • Specific knowledge of HP Servers & Switches.
  • Experience of Backup Exec and Veeam Backup technologies.
  • Previous management of Symantec IT applications suite, such as anti-virus, PC build and software deployment.
  • Implementation and management of Active Directory/Group Policy management within a corporate environment.
  • Experience in supporting an enterprise level email system, including understanding of mail domains and delivery routing.
  • Previous experience of working in an IT project environment, with active involvement within a managed project.
  • Implementation and management of web technologies, for example IIS, .NET, SSL-VPN, token authentication, etc.
  • Previous experience of IT integration projects covering email environment, file access, domain.
