This is an exciting contract opportunity for an SC Cleared Data Engineer to join a highly experienced team delivering advanced data solutions for a central government client. Our client helps ambitious organisations take control of their data platforms and accelerate their analytics and AI capabilities through modern, scalable architectures.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering data solutions built on Microsoft Fabric, enabling high-quality data ingestion, transformation, and analytics across enterprise environments.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows within Microsoft Fabric
- Develop robust data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integrations using Python and SQL
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data solutions
- Lead technical discussions and provide guidance on best practices for data architecture and engineering
- Take ownership of key solution components and ensure successful delivery
- Support sprint planning, requirements refinement, and effort estimation
- Ensure data quality, performance, and maintainability across the platform
- Strong experience designing and building end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric
- Advanced Python skills for data transformation, orchestration, and pipeline development
- Expert SQL skills for data modelling, querying, and performance optimisation
- Experience building data warehouses, lakehouses, or modern analytics platforms
- Strong understanding of data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and integration
- Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data platforms (Azure DevOps or similar)
- Understanding of data architecture, governance, and best practices
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Day Rate: Up to £500
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: 6 month initial sign up
