We’re looking for a committed and dynamic Team Manager to lead our Children Looked After Team – someone who brings energy, vision, and a deep commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for children in care.

In this role, you will provide strong, trauma‑informed, and reflective leadership to a skilled and dedicated team of social workers. Together you’ll support children who are looked after, as well as those involved in court proceedings, ensuring they experience safety, stability and meaningful, lasting change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of social workers supporting children in the care of the local authority.
  • Drive high standards in assessments, care planning, court reports, and permanency planning.
  • Provide confident professional oversight and decision‑making on complex cases.
  • Champion best practice in line with statutory requirements and national standards.
  • Foster a culture of high aspiration, restorative practice, and child‑centred care.
  • Build strong, effective partnerships to secure the best outcomes for children.
  • Monitor performance, manage risk and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
About You
  • Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post‑qualifying experience in children’s social care, particularly in looked‑after children and court work.
  • Strong practice expertise coupled with excellent organisational and decision‑making skills.
  • Leads with reflection, compassion, and a strengths‑based approach.
  • Passionate about supporting staff development, wellbeing, and high‑quality practice.
  • Deeply committed to improving the lives and futures of children and young people.
Additional Qualifications
  • Recognised Social Worker qualification with management experience, including statutory work with children and their families.
  • Social Work England Registration.
