On average, the service sorts, delivers and collects over 120,000 items of mail/medical notes per week and transports more than 5 million movements of samples of Blood Products and Pathology annually. The role is a Fixed‑term Secondment for 7 months until 09/12/2025, covering primary health care sites across NHS Wales.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain stock items in store centres.
- Safely transport, distribute and replenish NHS Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, secure and non‑secure stationery, laundry, mail/records and medical consumables (e.g., needles, syringes, containers) to hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, opticians and dental surgeries across NHS Wales.
Essential Qualifications:
- Full driving licence.
- Experience driving a range of vans.
- Dealing with customers.
- Sound geographical knowledge of area served.
- Moving and handling and awareness of health and safety.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Welsh speaker.
- Use of mobile technology.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
