We are recruiting qualified, innovative and dynamic Sessional Tutors and Lecturers to join our excellent team at the Macbeth Centre to teach courses in-person (occasionally online) to adult learners. If you are successful, you will be added to our Tutor Pool so our Programme Managers can discuss course development with you. In some subjects, this will be for an immediate start.
Requirements:
- Applicants must hold a recognised teaching qualification suitable for Further Education or Adult Learning or working towards one.
- Applicants should be confident in maintaining accurate course documentation in line with awarding body, funding body, and Ofsted requirements.
- Tutors are expected to complete all relevant teaching and learning documentation, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and learner progress records.
- Attendance at departmental meetings and participation in ongoing quality assurance processes is also required.
- Degree or equivalent in subject specialism (Level 4 minimum)
- Teaching qualification: Level 4 preferred (Level 3 acceptable if willing to train)
- Minimum 1 year’s teaching experience
- Industry/professional experience (where relevant)
Math Tutor (Functional Skills/ Adult Numeracy)
- Qualified to teach Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level–Level 2)
- Experience with adult learners
- Delivers practical, confidence-building lessons
- Familiar with curriculum frameworks such as City & Guilds, Pearson, NCFES
- Skilled in inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated learning
British Sign Language (BSL) Tutor
- Qualified BSL tutor (BSL Level 3+ (ideally Level 6))
- Teaches Beginners to Level 2
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and inclusive teaching practices

Psychology Tutor
