The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will provide organisation‑wide leadership for legal and governance services while fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of Monitoring Officer. You will help lead a governance reset, strengthen member‑officer relationships, and ensure the council operates with integrity, clarity and strong professional standards. This is a highly visible corporate role – one that requires sound judgement, political awareness, and a pragmatic, solution‑focused approach.
