About the Role

As part of a highly regarded Business Intelligence function, you'll transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, leveraging modern tools such as Azure and Power BI to influence services and support a period of significant transformation, including local government restructuring.

You'll help drive the development of high‑quality management and performance information that supports both strategic and operational decision‑making.

Lead the design and delivery of high‑quality management information and performance reporting across Adults' Health and Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, manipulate, and analyse complex datasets using SQL Server.
  • Design and build engaging and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a range of stakeholders.
  • Capture business requirements and develop specifications for reporting solutions.
  • Combine and analyse data from multiple sources to create unified datasets.
  • Work with operational and project leads to support performance frameworks and service improvements, contributing to transformation programmes.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in an IT support environment with strong expertise in relational databases and complex SQL queries (e. g. SQL Server).
  • Previous experience working within local government or Health with an understanding of the nature of public services delivery, particularly in social care or health settings.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI, including Power Query and Power Automate.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse large, complex datasets.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, database design, and data structures.
  • Ability to communicate technical insights to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to solve problems, innovate, and work independently under pressure.
