As a Best Start Outreach Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping children and families access the support they need to thrive and achieve positive outcomes. You’ll be at the heart of our early help and prevention approach, working proactively to engage families, reduce barriers to accessing services and improve outcomes for children, particularly in their earliest years. Through outreach, partnership working and community engagement, you’ll help make our Family Hubs visible, welcoming and accessible to all.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver outreach and engagement activities that raise awareness of Best Start Family Hubs and encourage families to access support, services and activities.
- Build positive relationships with families, community groups and partner agencies, with a focus on engaging underrepresented and harder-to-reach families.
- Support children and families to navigate services, access appropriate support and participate in Best Start activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and multi‑agency partners to coordinate support and improve outcomes for families.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to service monitoring and ensure safeguarding and information governance requirements are met.
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years, Education, Health, Child Development or a related field.
- Experience of working with children and families to improve outcomes, particularly families with children aged 0-5.
- Knowledge of child development, early help and prevention services and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with families, colleagues and partner agencies.
- A proactive, compassionate and inclusive approach, with a commitment to early intervention, prevention and strengths-based practice.
- Help give children the best possible start in life by supporting families to access the services and opportunities they need.
- Join a collaborative and supportive team committed to making a real difference in local communities.
- Access to Health Assured's comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme to support your physical and mental wellbeing, including 24/7 telephone support, a suite of online resources, and legal and financial advice.
- Competitive benefits package, including generous annual leave entitlement, occupational sick pay, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme. Find more information here .
