We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Information Governance team, with the ability to work dynamically across a range of information management tasks as well as with others across the organisation. The role of Information Governance Officer will support the identification of solutions to information management and data protection scenarios within a national policing unit working to ensure safer communities in the UK and around the world.

The successful candidate will become part of a wider team providing knowledge and support to all ACRO departments in matters relating to information management and data protection, including the reporting and safeguarding of any data breach events. The post holder will have an eye for detail, maintain their knowledge of the data protection sector and news events, providing support to the Data Protection Officer, Information Manager and Information Governance Supervisor. The role is also responsible for the maintenance of ACRO's Information Sharing Agreements, and the facilitation of Court Orders received into the organisation, both tasks afford regular engagement with external stakeholders. The role holder will also be involved in regular Compliance Audits supporting ACRO maintain compliance with the data protection principles in all of its processing activities.

ACRO Criminal Records Office supports UK and international law enforcement by processing criminal records for the purposes of public protection, safeguarding and worldwide community safety. Essential Qualifications: Educated to QCF Level 3 or work experience deemed to have brought the role holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience: Experience working within information governance or data protection. High level of attention to detail and experience working within and applying formal/legal frameworks to a wide variety of operational situations, in particular the Data Protection Act 2018. Proficient with Microsoft applications to include Word, Outlook and Excel.
