The Role
As a Highway Technician you will assist engineers in delivering a large variety of highway repairs throughout Hampshire, and deal with highway emergencies, adverse weather response and highway enforcement to enable the efficient use of Hampshire’s highway network. You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire and must have a current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis. Out‑of‑hours work may be required to respond to weather and other emergencies. No previous highways experience is required – we provide excellent training and development to help you succeed and progress within the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of roads and footways across Hampshire’s 8,000+km highway network.
- Respond to highway emergencies and adverse weather events.
- Record and report work activity accurately using IT tools.
- Engage positively with colleagues, contractors, the public, and local councillors.
