At Tile Barn Outdoor Centre your time will be split between maintaining the facilities and delivering activities for our schools residential students and families holidaying in the New Forest. Hampshire Outdoor Centres is dedicated to accelerating the personal development of young people through group learning situations using the outdoor environment and a full range of activities. Tile Barn is based in the New Forest close to the village of Brockenhurst and has been a camping and outdoor centre since the early 1970s. We are ideally situated allowing easy access to the New Forest National Park and its many attractions. Our site spans over 14 acres and caters for up to 300 young people on fully equipped standing camps. The centre also has a 38 bed indoor bunkhouse facility and a Glamping Pod Village which can accommodate up to 80 people.
Responsibilities:
- Support in centre functions such as assist in site and equipment maintenance and cleaning of facilities.
- Under direction and supervision perform basic low risk activity-based teaching or support, whilst building a rapport with participants.
- Take part in any training, induction and evaluation/assessment activities required to meet operational needs.
- Maintain an awareness of equalities and Health and Safety policies and procedures and apply them in the day to day job requirements.
- Be a team player with strong collaborative skills.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and oral.
- Follow schedules, guidelines and set procedures.
- Exhibit sound IT skills and be able to accurately record information.
- Meet the physical demands of the job.
- Gain great satisfaction from supporting people to get the most out of their stay.
