As an analyst you will be supporting the challenges facing the constabulary with our purpose of making Hampshire & Isle of Wight safe for everyone. Policing challenges are constant and ever evolving and Hampshire continues to strengthen the trust of all our communities through our delivery of fair, thorough, transparent and ethical policing.

We are recruiting for analysts within our Corporate Analysis team. You will work on both quantitative and qualitative analysis and policing topics. You will be involved in a range of work across all areas of policing from crime affecting Hampshire's streets, insights into our organisation, understanding the performance of the force and how we police our communities ethically and effectively as well as demand on our resources. It is about researching, identifying, collecting, assessing and interpreting a range of information sources, to deliver valuable and influential analysis to make our community safer.

Our team is also responsible for long term strategic workforce forecasting and analysis. This places insight into the hands of those delivering our service to empower and support strategic decision‑making to develop the workforce flexibility, capability and the inclusivity required to adapt to the changing operating environment. We create regular reports, briefings to strategic management boards and bespoke analytical products which assist the force in understanding if we have the workforce and processes in place to service our demand.

Analytical support is in demand in HIOWC and increasing each year. We utilise tools such as PowerBI, Business Objects, Excel, models and our skills with data to provide the force with the insight to make decisions. In summary, we try to understand our workforce, the demand we face and the ability of those resources to meet that demand, as well as crime affecting our communities and the performance of the force in solving that crime. We analyse the impact of attrition, sickness, training, recruitment and organisational processes and we also undertake ad hoc projects which assist the Constabulary in understanding issues and emerging risks.
