Payroll Team Leader

We are looking for a Team Leader who has the passion and energy to take the team far. This is a new role supporting our government client, the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA). This is a permanent role, and the team works on a hybrid approach, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays office-based. We pride ourselves on supporting our employees and wellbeing, so we may be able to offer alternative options if required. What you’ll be doing: Motivate, lead, and develop the team, encouraging communication. Ensure the team follows processes and support them in doing so. Undertake 1-2-1s on a monthly basis. Handle and resolve complex queries within the team. Allocate workload across the team and ensure it is managed accurately. Support the payroll operations lead in meeting client SLAs and key metrics. Identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures. Develop and manage changes within your area through the change management process. What you’ll bring: Experience leading a small team. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Coaching and mentorship skills. Ability to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions. Experience in payroll administration. It would be great if you had: Experience with Oracle E-Business. Knowledge of Local Government Pension schemes. CIPP qualification (management can support you through this, funded by SSCL).
