OEG operates a fleet of windfarm support vessels (21–26m LOA) and is seeking an experienced Master to take full command of vessel operations, safety, and crew management. As Master, you will hold ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the vessel, its machinery, equipment, and all personnel onboard.
Key Responsibilities- Overall responsibility for safety management, navigation, performance, and upkeep of the vessel
- Management of vessel machinery and associated equipment
- Ensure efficient daily operations in line with company and client expectations
- Oversee maintenance standards and rectify defects where possible
- Keep management fully informed during repair periods
- Implement and promote MRE’s Safety and Environmental Policy
- Lead safety and pollution prevention activities onboard
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and industry guidelines
- Maintain validity of all statutory and vessel certification
- Liaise with the DPA to ensure SMS compliance and coordinate audits
- Review contingency plans and ship procedures, reporting deficiencies as required
- Ensure proper use of MRE documentation and reporting systems
- Report operational defects or risks impacting safety or pollution prevention
- Ensure all marine crew are suitably qualified, medically fit, and competent
- Motivate, lead, and issue clear instructions to crew
- Coordinate and appraise onboard training requirements
- Deliver onboard training to support development and progression
- Maintain overall responsibility for onboard safety and fire‑fighting organisation
- Oversee medical care onboard (delegating where appropriate)
- Ensure care and maintenance of all electronic navigational aids and communications equipment
- STCW Master 500 CoC, UK FSE or higher
- Ideally minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar command role
- Experience on vessels >500gt preferred
- All relevant STCW certification and valid Seafarer Medical
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organised with logical problem‑solving ability
- Calm, professional, and decisive under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Right to work in the UK / Frontier Work Permit
