Share Energy is seeking a motivated Regulation & Compliance Executive to support our regulatory, policy, and compliance activities within the evolving Northern Ireland energy market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about energy policy, sustainability, market regulation and stakeholder engagement to contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance
    • Monitor and interpret regulatory, policy and market developments from the Utility Regulator and the SEM, assessing implications for Share Energy.
    • Support the Regulation Manager in ensuring compliance with licence conditions, Codes of Practice and regulatory reporting obligations.
    • Contribute to the development of internal processes to track, report and deliver regulatory submissions on time.
  • Policy & Market Analysis
    • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data from various sources to produce insights that support strategic decision‑making and regulatory responses.
    • Evaluate how policy or market changes may impact customers, commercial performance, operations, or compliance obligations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, industry bodies, government departments and other suppliers.
    • Coordinate and contribute to consultation responses.
  • Internal Collaboration & Support
    • Work cross‑functionally with operational, commercial, customer and strategy teams to ensure regulatory considerations are embedded into business planning.
    • Provide clear written and verbal advice to internal stakeholders on regulatory obligations and emerging policy changes.
The Candidate
  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, policy, law, economics, data analysis) OR a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a policy or regulatory analysis role.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex matters clearly.
  • Exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, with the capability to deliver high‑quality outputs under deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain constructive stakeholder relationships. A high degree of personal responsibility, diligence and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a regulated sector (electricity, gas, water), consumer protection, policy advocacy or within the SEM market.
  • Knowledge of energy regulation, market frameworks or relevant legislation.
  • Experience drafting consultation responses, regulatory submissions or market analysis reports.

Salary - £35-37k per year, depending on experience
