Wavertree C of E Primary School are looking for a new Early Years Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Early Years Educator apprenticeship L3.
Wavertree CE is a warm, welcoming, single‑form entry school with a strong Christian ethos. We provide a nurturing and engaging environment where children develop a love of learning and the foundations for future success. We are offering an excellent opportunity for an apprentice to train as an Early Years Educator, working within our Nursery or Reception class. You will learn from experienced practitioners and gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to achieve your qualification.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Support children aged 2–5 through play‑based learning that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help set up and deliver engaging activities including arts, crafts, storytelling, music, and outdoor play.
- Assist with daily routines such as snack times, transitions, and personal care in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Observe children’s progress and contribute to planning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Promote positive behaviour and build supportive relationships with children and their families.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children, reporting concerns appropriately.
- Support purposeful play activities that develop language, literacy, numeracy, and healthy habits.
- Use child development knowledge to provide tailored support and assist during key transitions.
- Work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Engage fully in all apprenticeship learning, tasks, and assessments with support from your mentor.
The annual salary that you see is pro rata – this role is term time only.
