Little Foxes Nursery are looking for a new Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship L2.

As an apprentice at Little Foxes Newton Nursery, you’ll work closely with our friendly, experienced early years team, supporting children in their daily routines, play and learning activities. You’ll gain hands-on experience in child development, safeguarding, planning activities and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. With on-the-job training, mentoring and a recognised qualification, this role offers a fantastic first step into a rewarding career in childcare.

We are a family-run private nursery, first set up in 1996 in the garden of 57 Fox House Lane. Our aim for the nursery is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for all our children. We try to nurture, care and challenge each child individually and give the best personal care we can. Little Foxes' ethos is “to give unlimited and natural play experiences”. The children spend 80% of their day out in the garden area as we feel that children learn a lot more, play more freely, and experience a healthier lifestyle when they have the opportunity to be outdoors.

Your role will include:

  • Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities in line with the EYFS.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest times and personal care.
  • Help plan, prepare and set up engaging activities and learning environments.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, sharing updates with the wider team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating nursery environment at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Take part in training, assessments and reflective practice as part of the apprenticeship.
