At Shape Underwriting, we’re not just underwriting risk - we’re building products, platforms, and a business that can scale. That means constantly evolving how our products perform, how our systems work, and how we use data to make better decisions. This role sits right at the centre of that. You’ll join Shape Digital, where underwriting, data, and technology come together - learning how insurance products are built and traded, and how platforms bring them to life. From there, your role quickly grows. You won’t just be producing reports - you’ll be helping to improve products, spot opportunities, and influence decisions across the business. If you want to do more than just analyse data, this is a role where your work will actually shape outcomes.
Where you fit: Shape Underwriting is a specialist MGA within Clear Group, focused on delivering innovative products and exceptional service to brokers and their clients. Shape Digital is how we make that happen. It’s the team responsible for building and evolving our trading platforms - turning underwriting expertise into scalable digital products, and using data to continuously improve performance and the broker experience. You’ll be working right at that intersection - data, product, and underwriting - with real exposure to how a growing business operates.
What you’ll be doing: Your role will evolve as you build confidence, but early on you’ll focus on:
- Supporting product builds - from research through to testing and launch
- Producing performance reporting and management information
- Maintaining systems, including user setup and issue resolution
- Acting as a key contact for internal system queries
- Analysing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Working with senior stakeholders to improve products and outcomes
- Contributing to system and process improvements
- Helping shape how data is used across the business
This isn’t just about reporting numbers - it’s about understanding what they mean, and what we should do next.
What success looks like: In this role, success is about how quickly you build understanding, the quality of your insight, and the impact your work has on the wider business. You get up to speed quickly and build a strong understanding of our products, platforms, and data. Your reporting goes beyond numbers—it’s used to drive decisions, not just describe performance. You identify trends and opportunities others haven’t spotted. Stakeholders trust your input and involve you early. You actively contribute to improving how we build products and use data. Over time, you move from supporting delivery to influencing decisions and outcomes across the business.
About you: This role is ideal for a graduate or someone with experience looking to build a career in data, product, or analytics. You’ll likely bring:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working with data and identifying trends
- Clear communication - you can explain insight in a simple, practical way
- An interest in technology, product development, or how systems work
You’ll also be:
- Curious - you want to understand how things work and how to improve them
- Proactive - you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
- Organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Motivated to learn, develop, and take on more responsibility
If you’re looking for a role where you can build real capability, work closely with the business, and see the impact of what you do - this is a great place to start. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
