We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Beaconsfield team and take ownership of the commercial management of our high-end residential developments. You will lead the procurement and management of subcontractor packages, oversee budgets, and ensure costs are effectively controlled throughout the build programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Procuring and placing subcontractor packages in line with the build programme
  • Preparing detailed subcontract enquiries, scopes of work and contract documentation
  • Analysing returns, negotiating terms, and making clear, commercially robust recommendations
  • Managing subcontractor payments, variations and contra charges
  • Ensuring contracts are placed on agreed terms and conditions
  • Attending site meetings and working collaboratively with delivery teams
  • Reviewing drawings to ensure proposals are practical, cost-effective and commercially viable
  • Providing cost advice to support sales and wider business decisions
  • Producing regular cost reports and full development cost reports

  • Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a housebuilder environment
  • Excellent commercial awareness and numerical ability
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment
