We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Beaconsfield team and take ownership of the commercial management of our high-end residential developments. You will lead the procurement and management of subcontractor packages, oversee budgets, and ensure costs are effectively controlled throughout the build programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Procuring and placing subcontractor packages in line with the build programme
- Preparing detailed subcontract enquiries, scopes of work and contract documentation
- Analysing returns, negotiating terms, and making clear, commercially robust recommendations
- Managing subcontractor payments, variations and contra charges
- Ensuring contracts are placed on agreed terms and conditions
- Attending site meetings and working collaboratively with delivery teams
- Reviewing drawings to ensure proposals are practical, cost-effective and commercially viable
- Providing cost advice to support sales and wider business decisions
- Producing regular cost reports and full development cost reports
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a housebuilder environment
- Excellent commercial awareness and numerical ability
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment
