Position at a leading independent prep school in Hertfordshire, effective September 2026. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary with possible accommodation. Location Hemel Hempstead area, Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to students in Years 5 through 8.
  • Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons and assessments.
  • Plan and facilitate outdoor learning experiences related to history.
  • Lead the History department and coordinate staff activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate history across the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to school improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching History at primary or secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for history.
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a school ethos that values confidence, happiness, and success.
