Legal Counsel OVERVIEW Shaneel is a fast-growing group of companies in the perfume and cosmetics industry.

Perfumery brands we own or manage include GHOST, ARIANA GRANDE, JENNIFER LOPEZ, CERRUTI 1881, HAWAIIAN TROPIC and PLAYBOY.

This role is working 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH.

JOB PURPOSE We seek a lawyer to join the in-house legal team, to be a full-time Commercial Legal Counsel, reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel.

This is a varied role, and the ideal candidate will need to have strong commercial instincts coupled with an attention to detail and rigorous legal understanding.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drafting or amending, advising, and negotiating on a wide range of commercial contracts including distribution agreements, services and supply agreements, terms and conditions, authorised retailer agreements, website terms, as well as bespoke commercial agreements.

Advising the marketing teams about brand promotions including prize draws operated through social media, and promotional materials.

Advising the online marketing team on a wide range of issues.

Regulatory compliance.

Data Protection advice.

The pragmatic handling of dispute resolution.

Other general business legal matters which may arise from time to time could include some property and employment matters.

A small amount of travel may be required for the purpose of attending meetings in the UK.

REQUIREMENTS UK or foreign-qualified lawyer, likely to be 1 to 5 years PQE, but we will consider applications from candidates outside this range with suitable skills and knowledge.

Experience in contract law and commercial contracts.

French/Spanish/German languages would be an advantage.

Attributes Excellent organisational skills including the ability to deal with conflicting demands to meet deadlines, prioritise a heavy workload and have the willingness to work flexibly.

An abundance of common sense and able to maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Must be able to work on own initiative, but also be able to be a team player.

A “can do” attitude.

Business and commercially aware.

An ability to give clear, concise legal advice whilst having regard to the practical and commercial needs of the business.

Strong drafting skills.

An ability to manage competing pressures well.

A friendly approach and a keen interest in helping the business to optimum success.
