Job Description
- Healthcare Assistant
- Location: Swaffham, PE37
- Pay Rate: £16.50 – £18.50 per hour
- Shifts: Bank Adhoc Night Shifts | 9 Hour Shifts
About Us
At Apollo Home Healthcare, we provide high-quality, person-centred care to people in the comfort of their own homes. Every individual we support has unique needs – we tailor every care package to them, building a compassionate and skilled team around their requirements.
We live and work by the 6 Cs: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment and we\’re looking for people who share those values.
Meet Our Client
A baby boy living at home with his loving family in Swaffham. As he\’s not yet able to tell you what he needs with words, he relies on facial expressions, body language, and sounds to communicate how he\’s feeling. You\’ll need to be patient, calm, and in tune-ready with cuddles, smiles, and lullabies to help him feel safe and settled. He enjoys sensory toys, gentle music, and being snuggled with his favourite cosy blanket when it\’s time to sleep.
During night shifts, you\’ll stay close by, keeping a watchful and caring eye to make sure he\’s comfortable, settled, and well. If he wakes, a quiet cuddle, his lullabies, or his comfort blanket usually helps him drift back off to sleep. You\’ll also complete regular observations and provide any clinical care he may need overnight.
Experience with tracheostomy care or PEG feeding is desirable, but we\’re ideally looking for someone genuinely interested in supporting babies with complex healthcare needs. You\’ll be calm, patient, attentive and able to recognise and respond effectively to his needs.
Please note: Due to the nature of our vacancies, our clients have the right to request either female or male staff.
\”This isn\’t just a job – it\’s your opportunity to make a real difference in someone\’s life.\”
What You\’ll Need
- 3 months\’ care experience
- Confident with medication, personal care, moving and handling
- Clear communication skills
- Valid driver\’s licence
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay with enhancements for nights and weekends
- Regular confirmed rotas and flexible scheduling
- Reward & recognition programme
- Supportive management and 24/7 on-call support
- Opportunity to grow within a values-led, national care provider
Our funded training, including clinical skills, comes at no cost to you, though attendance is unpaid.
Apply Now
If you\’re passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and meet the requirements outlined above, we\’d love to hear from you. To apply, please submit your CV through this job board.
