Shanahan Engineering is currently looking for a recruiter with power generation experience to support our ongoing operations. This role can be situated in our head office in Dublin, Ireland, one of our satellite offices, or be fully remote. The ideal candidate would have previously placed white collar and blue collar personnel into the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of power generation projects. Recruitment experience within the power generation sector is mandatory.

Purpose

Reporting directly to the Recruitment Manager – Shanahan Engineering (Ireland), this role is responsible for sourcing and recruiting suitable employees and contractors for company projects. Working closely with the Operations team (OTR) and the Sales team (ITO), the role holder will ensure each project is resourced with the appropriate level of technical and specialist skills. The role holder is the interface between the organization and the company’s employee, contractor, and third-party resources and will regularly communicate with a wide range of potential job holders to keep them engaged and updated on current and future project requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Have a good understanding of current and future potential projects and source suitable candidates based on requirements of job descriptions, the level of skill set and experience required, and the timeline for the role.
  • Use Recruitment Tools (LinkedIn, adverts) to advertise current and future potential positions, attract candidates, and build relationships with candidates.
  • Manage all correspondence/communication with current and future candidates using Salesforce. Ensure that all candidate records on Salesforce are up to date (e.g. CV, Tags, Contact details etc).
  • Ensure that all candidates are progressed through the recruitment phases in a timely manner using Salesforce.
  • Where appropriate, ensure that candidates have completed the pre-employment online assessments.
  • First level screening of candidates against key skills on job description.
  • Provide shortlist of potential candidates to hiring managers.
  • Second level screening of candidates to check and record qualification certification, visa requirements, reference checks, past employment verification, ID verification, brief informal interview.
  • Set up technical interviews with hiring managers.
  • For senior positions, set up interviews with Line Managers or HR Managers.
  • Prepare employment/assignment contracts for approval by Finance, Commercial, and HR.
  • Develop/Build/Manage a Shanahan Engineering Network of current and past employees (alumni).
  • Any other duties as required.
  • Provide cover for other recruitment team members as required.
