Shakespeare’s Globe:
We are an independent charity and commercial operator, reborn with fresh fire in the wake of the pandemic - re-energised, re-inspired, and ready to meet the future head-on. Unlike many in our field, we work without public subsidy, without regular support from Arts Council England. Instead, we stand on our own forging surpluses through our own creativity and courage, pouring every surplus back into the lifeblood of The Shakespeare’s Globe Trust, our registered educational and artistic charity.
Artistic productions are our beating heart - the pulse that keeps the Globe alive. Every year, more than 750,000 visitors cross our threshold on Bankside, drawn to over 600 performances, Guided Tours, schools workshops and events across 363 days. From dawn until long past dusk, especially for our popular Midnight Matinees, our stages ring with laughter, tears, and the timeless power of words.
