Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking an Assistant Visitor Operations Manager on a permanent full-time basis. We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. The role: Shakespeare’s Globe is seeking an Assistant Visitor Operations Manager to help deliver exceptional, inclusive experiences across our iconic site - from performances and tours to events and workshops. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on operational management with people-focused leadership, ensuring our teams and spaces reflect the Globe’s values of care, collaboration, and excellence.

The skills:

  • Experience in visitor or audience operations within a fast-paced, public-facing environment
  • Proven leadership skills and confidence managing frontline teams, including direct performance oversight
  • Experience acting as a Duty Manager or operational lead, with strong awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Calm, organised, and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong understanding of inclusive service and access needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with operational systems

The team: The Visitor and Audience Operations Department is at the heart of Shakespeare’s Globe, responsible for delivering exceptional experiences to all visitors. Encompassing tours, performances, events, and retail support, the team ensures every aspect of the visitor journey is welcoming, inclusive, and smoothly run. With a strong focus on operational excellence, customer service, and collaboration, the department also oversees a large team of staff and volunteers, playing a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the site and upholding the Globe’s commitment to accessibility, education, and world-class theatre.
