Join to apply for the Legal Assistant - Property role at Shakespeare Martineau. Our Agriculture Team in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking for a Legal Assistant to provide vital administrative support.

The role

  • You will work as part of a team to provide property administrative support to help our legal teams deliver great service to our clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the fee earners in the team in relation to both client facing and management roles.
  • Providing timely and effective support to requests for assistance on client work from members of the team.
  • Developing your understanding of client work so as to be able to assist more effectively.
  • Accurate production of correspondence and documentation including through the use of digital dictation.
  • Attending to clients in person and on the phone taking messages and assisting where appropriate.
  • Use of a case management system to process and progress files.
  • Managing the central team in relation to file opening, closure and archiving.
  • Producing bills and other financial administration.
  • Managing diaries for the team, planning and organising meetings and making travel arrangements.
  • Organising and maintaining departmental filing systems and document storage.
  • Photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing, filing and other general administrative tasks.

What you will need:

  • At least 12 months’ experience in a busy administrative or organisational role.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Confident use of IT systems, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel (PowerPoint beneficial).
  • Fast, accurate typing skills and strong attention to detail.

  • To be able to demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative and self-confidence.
