We are seeking a Solicitor to join the Energy team at Shakespeare Martineau. The role offers a fast-moving environment within a highly regarded team delivering legal and regulatory advice and contract support to a range of energy sector clients.
What you will be doing:
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of energy contracts
- Advising on regulatory matters, including compliance with energy legislation, regulations, licences and codes
- Advising on related procurement and subsidy control issues
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers in the team
- Actively participating in the team’s client care and business development activities
What you will need:
- 3-6 years’ experience handling contracts and related legal matters, preferably in energy/regulatory work (though not essential)
- Proven experience working in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
