Shakedown is a Manchester-born smash burger and shakes brand, and we're growing fast. We're looking for a hands-on, commercially sharp Store Manager to take full ownership of our Cheadle Hulme store: running the floor, leading the team, and driving the numbers. This is a role for a proven Store Manager or a strong Assistant Manager ready to step up into a site of their own. You'll live and breathe great service, keep a tight grip on the P&L, and lead a team that people actually want to work in.
What you'll be doing:
- Own the store's sales performance, hitting and exceeding revenue targets
- Manage labour as a percentage of sales through smart rota planning and forecasting
- Control food cost, gross profit and waste, keeping stock, ordering and portioning tight
- Set and maintain the standard for service, speed, quality and cleanliness on every shift
- Protect and grow our online reputation across Google and delivery platforms
- Recruit, onboard, train and develop a high-performing team
- Coach, motivate and manage performance, including reviews and any formal process
- Keep the store fully compliant with food safety, hygiene (EHO) and health & safety standards
- Ensure cash handling, banking and till reconciliation are accurate and secure
- Handle tips fairly and transparently in line with current UK rules
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Store Manager, or a strong Assistant Manager ready to step up, in a food-led or fast-paced hospitality/retail environment
- Track record of hitting sales targets and managing a P&L, labour and cost lines
- Confident people leader: recruiting, training, motivating and managing a team
- Strong grasp of food safety, hygiene and health & safety responsibilities
- Calm under pressure, hands-on, and happy to lead from the front on a busy shift
- Experience in QSR, casual dining, burgers/shakes or a similar high-volume concept
- Familiarity with EPOS, delivery platforms and rota/labour software
- Level 3 Food Safety and/or Personal Licence
Bonus structure:
- A quarterly performance bonus of up to £750 (£3,000 a year), measured against a clear scorecard:
- Sales and revenue growth: 40%
- Labour and cost control: 35%
- Customer and review scores: 25%
Performance bonus:
- Free meals on shift
- Staff discount across the Shakedown group
- Company pension
- Real progression as the brand expands, and we promote from within
Schedule: Full-time, including evenings and weekends
