We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring individuals to join Shaftesbury's Nash College team. Applicants for the above post should be imaginative, dynamic and committed to the principles of inclusive education.
Main Duties:
- Supporting class Co-tutor and lecturer with the preparation of resources to meet the personalized learning intentions of allocated students.
- Providing 1:1 support under supervision for the delivery of skills based learning.
- Using a range of communication strategies to support communication with students with complex needs.
- Supporting the social and emotional needs of young people.
- Working closely with class lecturer to report on progress using an evidence based approach.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be able to build and maintain successful relationships with students; treating them consistently with respect and consideration.
- Promote and reinforce student’s self-esteem, social development and independence, encouraging students to interact with others and engage in activities.
- Support students in or outside the classroom throughout the school day, in a range of subjects and activities.
- Assist and support students with therapy needs as directed by the Therapists, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.
- Support students’ learning in the wider curriculum, which may include visits and trips out of school as required.
- Be flexible, adaptable and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Have a compassionate nature, with a real desire to help others.
